After you have decided to register your trademark (brand), we strongly recommend checking it for similarity with other already registered and/or applied for registration.

This can be done in 2 ways:

1) by checking the free databases of Ukrpatent;

2) by ordering a full check, which includes, among other things, a check on the databases of applications for trademarks that are already under consideration in Ukrpatent.

! We draw your attention to the fact that checking the trademark for its similarity (identity) with others is very important, because if it is not carried out, it may turn out that such TM is already registered (or submitted for registration earlier than yours). This, in turn, will serve as a reason for Ukrpatent to refuse you and lead to the loss of funds already paid as registration fees.

As for the first method of trademark verification, it is carried out by searching for similar TMs already registered in Ukrainian and international databases. However, since in this verification method the comparison is made only for those trademarks that are already registered - the absence of a TM similar to yours is not a 100% guarantee that no one has registered (or applied for registration).

And therefore, in order to be as sure as possible that nothing similar has been registered and has not been declared before registration - it is better for you to order a full check (so-called paid search) with a search report. This type of inspection includes a search for both registered and applied for registration in Ukrainian and international patent offices that may stand in the way of your registration.
